Another short trip to Sweden. This time to Landskrona and Ven (Hven in Danish).
Saturday: We arrived in Landskrona at 11 pm, where we got our rooms at Hotel Kronan hamnhotellet. I do recommend this hotel, housed in building from the late 1700. There is a view of the harbour and a lounge with coffee, tea, fruit and cake to the hotel guests! The breakfast was also very nice.
Afterwards we went to Sofiero Castle. It is a beautiful castle with a very nice garden. Unfortunately it was raining, but we still went around in the garden. We ate lunch at “Glasveranda” overlooking the garden. Beautiful view and nice food.
We then drove to Helsingborg. The weather was better, so we took a stroll in the old town and had coffee at Conditori Kafferepet. The oldest café in Helsingborg and traditional Swedish bread and cakes.
Back in Landskrona we took a walk in the town and around the citadel. We had dinner at Restaurang Tycho Brahe. Very appropriate, as we learned that we were to visit Ven the next day. After dinner we went back to our hotel and rested in the lounge.
Sunday: We sailed from Landskrona at 10 pm (our hotel was a 5 minute walk from the terminal), and arrived at 10.30. You arrive at Bäckviken, and not far from here it is possible to rent bikes. They have both electrical bikes, tandem bikes and normal bikes, which we opted for. Our first destination was the Tycho Brahe Museum, and we were the only guest at that moment.
The museum is very nice and great for children.
After the museum we went to the old church at Kyrkbacken. It was closed, so we continued downhill to the harbour, where we enjoyed the sun and an ice cream. We then followed the coaat to Västra Fyr and Bakkefallsbyen. We wanted to see the destillery, but it was not open. We returned to the Tycho Brahe Museum and had a bite at café Tycho Brahe. It was very good! We then returned our bikes and took a stroll in Bäckviken, before the ferry returned us to Landskrona. We went shopping here, adn then drove back to Denmark.
